I was going to make a poll but I don't want this to turn into a war on which game is the best but rather a discussion on each of the RE titles. Also, We have new titles coming out this year as well so I'll save the poll for December.
I thought I'd make a new discussion for the new year.
Here is the list of games and I'll post mine once someone else has posted. Please, explain in detail on why the game is your favorite please.
Resident Evil Zero Resident Evil Resident Evil Director's Cut Resident Evil Deadly Silence Resident Evil Remake Resident Evil 2 Resident Evil 3 Resident Evil CVX Resident Evil 4 Resident Evil 5 Resident Evil Outbreak Resident Evil Outbreak File 2 Resident Evil Gun Survivor Resident Evil Gun Survivor 2 Resident Evil Dead Aim Resident Evil Revalations Resident Evil Gaiden Resident evil Mercenaries 3D Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles
Let me know if I missed any. It's been awhile.

Resident Evil Dead Aim is probably my top favorite game. The gameplay was pretty intense, especially when using the guncon. It's the first Resident Evil I beat without assistance (aside from the occasional "Where do I go?" I would ask my cousin Riven-O), and it was an overall great game. I mean, it didn't really piece in with the main storyline, but it was a nice change of pace from the cities, mansions, and estates. This game took place on a mother f'ing boat! [[inserted Lonely Island reference lol]] I truly found that to be amazing. All in all great game.

Hahahaha!
The only problem I found with Dead Aim was the length of the game. It wasn't very long but the guncon gameplay made up for that.
My favorite has always been and always will be Resident Evil Zero. Billy Coen was off the chain and was able to pull of slow motion action sequences without turning into a super action hero...Leon *cough* *cough*
It was also a nice change to see a different Rebecca Chambers. She was actually able to hold her own which I found to be quite relieving.
The train and church were my favorite locations. They did a very good job on the pre-rendering. The ability to drop an item anywhere and have the ability to find those items through the map was a really huge help. (I would just drop everything I didn't need at the train crash site.
I love RE0.

Hmm difficult to pick just one. RE1 will always have rediculous nostalgia for me being the first one I played and I will always think of Code Veronica fondly simply because the story was like nothing I had ever seen in a RE game. So epic.
I have to go with RE3 though I think, Jill was always my favorite in RE1 so a game to herself I loved and the Terminator like story with Nemisis I thought was exiting.

Re4. Was't big into the movie like camera angles. Four released the third person over the shoulder witch i love 3ps. Granted it was not like the originals but it attracted players like me in. I am a human strategy guide on that game. Since they released it for xbox360 i can't get enough out of it. Hands down my favorite

It is now they upscaled RE4 and Code Veronica and made them downloadable on the 360 and PS3. I would have got them if they released a physical disc.

The only thing that sucks is that they made it using the gamecube controller. The a and b buttons are backwards. Takes a lil while getting use 2. Keep reloading while tryin to shoot.

Resident Evil 2. It will always be my favorite. Every time I play it I get reminded of my child hood. I love the storyline, being in a city full of the undead. Having the four different scenarios, and it just had a creepy feel to it. I loved that William Birkin was in it too and the G-Virus and Lickers really laid down the pavement for me. CVX is my second favorite. It was just so different than the rest of the originals, but incredibly awesome.

Definitely REmake. I love the atmosphere, and the story hasn't gotten so wacky yet.
It was also the second RE game I ever played and the first one that I beat. I played CVX first, but I got to the part where the bandersnatch jumps through the window, and I was in the red with no ammo or healing items so it was impossible for me to progress.

I started playing Resident Evil 4 while I was in the middle of beating RE0 for the first time. I liked the gameplay differences because it was fun to switch from game to game. I was playing the same franchise but it was different gameplay mechanics all together.
Resident Evil 2 will always have a special place in my heart. It was the first RE I had ever played. It was 1998 and my older brother had gotten the 2 disc ps1 game for his birthday. I was only seven and living in California so the concept of zombies in a city scared the hell outta me. I would come home everyday in anticipation and a bit of fear to watch my bro get a little bit closer to the end. One day he decided to teach me how to play on my own save file and I got decently far for a seven year old. Anyways I feel a huge wave of nostalgia everytime I play it on gamecube or psp. The sounds of the inventory window and music when you enter the police station hits me the hardest.
I really really really love REmake. The graphics were amazing and the crimson heads brought all new fear to the games for me. They still make me run like hell in the game. I was only dissapointed in Rebecca's character. I knew that in the first game she was usless but I thought because of RE0 they may have changed her to be more self-reliant. Nope. ( I actually did an interview with her voice actress, Hope Levy, when I owned Resident Evil Zero Files)
CVX got me through some rough times. My family was kicked out of our house when I was in 8th grade so while my family went to stay with my aunt My brother and I went to stay with friends of ours. I dropped out of school that year and started smoking so much weed. It was a depressing time but for 3 weeks I would do nothing but get high, eat Taco Bell, and play Resident Evil CVX. I haven't smoked for about 3 years now but the game was great for me back then. I ended up getting into 9th grade that next year without having to do an ounce of work while I was away. Bitchin.

My fave Resident Evil game of all time is Resident Evil 2 Mostly bc I love the storyline and not to mention I remembered that it scared the crap out of me I remember dreading having to go around ever corner. And then playing the second scenario and being hunted down by Mr X that there to me was the scariest part of the game for me. Man I tell you what them where truly good times.

Resident Evil 2 was my personal favorite due to many factors that mad it interesting or intriguing to others. First off the setting...I mean seriously its a city overrun by zombies people are dying and becoming infected at almost every moment, zombies around every corner, and a classic heart racing fear of becoming overrun becuase of ammo resources. The locations were pretty good also even though you spent ALOT of time in certain places if you had never played the game before which is understandable. But my personal favorite thing about the game were the enemies...especially the bosses. they had moments of security the suddenly your overrun and have to act quickly....but the thing that sets it off for me is the 2 major bosses of the game the Tyrant "Mr. X" ((scary and imposing)) and "William Burkin" also known as the G-type (( The monster that never seems to die]] these bosses alongside with the story, enemies and setting made this game worth while

In complete honesty re4 was the game that got me into the series, cuz when it first came out I was like 10, and I fondly remember watchin monkeychow play it from beginning to end. Re1- 3 for gamecube are the shit, but I just have to go with 4.
