My answer is yes. It is very pointless and a waste of money if you already own the RE games on the Gamecube.
I just bought RE0 for the Wii at Gamestop an hour ago even though I've owned it on Gamecube for about six years or so.
Why do you ask?
I don't really know....I can't really blame it on collecting so to speak even though that was a minor part of it....I don't know...
It was mainly out of impulse. Just seeing my favorite RE on another format just sitting on that lonely shelf next to the wii versions of remake and RE4 got to me.
Anybody else own the main RE games on the Cube and have recently bought the Wii versions too?
If so then why?

Even though I have played RE5 on the 360, I would most definatly buy it for the Wii. I had tons of fun with RE4 on the Wii, and may never have picked up a RE game if it were not for the ease of the Wii RE4's controls. But because of RE4 on the Wii, I challeanged myself to try a shooter on a standard controller. Between the N64/PS1 era my gaming really fell off and I made the purchase of the Wii because of its innovative, or at least different style of controls. Now I am back into my gaming and loving both my Wii and my 360.
