octopus flooded its aquarium after pulling open a valve in its tank.
The cheeky two-spotted sea creature sent hundreds of gallons of water gushing through the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, in California.

Staff arrived at work on Tuesday morning to find their offices soaked.

They quickly traced the problem to the aquarium’s resident two-spotted octopus, a tiny female known for being curious and sociable with visitors.

The octopus apparently tugged on a valve, allowing water to overflow its tank.

Aquarium spokeswoman Randi Parent said

no animals were harmed in the flood.
