Figured I'd try and start an RP thing. However thinking about past ones I got tired of the whole outbreak city in chaos thing. So I'd to try something a little different and throw RE in with a post apocalyptic setting. Don't get this confused with that RE Extinction BS. The whole world didn't turn to desert with 99.9% of the population dead and the few remaining living in Alaska. Isn't going to be one huge story in a single thread. Going to be broken up into pieces. A little information behind the whole shebang:
Officially Umbrella had been disbanded by the United States government. However the corporation survived by a series of secret trusts and shell corporations. Creating new bio weapons and with Oswell Spencer at the helm, perfecting others. While the T-virus spread through out the continent at a snail's pace a new threat grew. Far across the ocean in rural Spain a parasite know as Las Plagas was unearthed by the leader of a cult known as Los Illuminados. Locals from nearby villages were infested in only a few weeks. Followed by an army of mercenaries located on a small island not too far away. After the installation was wiped out a rival corporation retrieved a 'master plaga' sample. Little did they know another had escaped the destruction. Ticking away like a time bomb it was only a matter of time before an outbreak or infestation hit full force. This time it would be on a global scale.
Seven years later....
Governments have failed to stem the chaos. The human race lies on the edge of a knife. Ironically New Raccoon stands as an oasis in the dystopia that remains of the world. Umbrella, New STARS, and an organization as Weather Corp have united in order to stave off extinction. Yet a shadow war still rages between the three groups over the fate of New Raccoon and the remains of the world itself. What fate lies in store for humanity? Will it fade into the shadows to be forgotten or will it reclaim the wasteland?
Only time will tell.....
Rules?
1. No superhuman/mutant stuff. I might see the need for it later on in the story.
2. If you're going to have a big military/cop Hoorah-Hooah character you better know your stuff. Needless to say majority of military/police actively involved in trying to prevent/stop the outbreak didn't have a very long life expectancy. Nor did that have one after the outbreak. Current members of the security forces were every day people. Refugees, few lucky enough to scratch a living until they could reach what was left of civilization, and those born into the wasteland. Then drafted into security forces and given rudimentary training by what was left of the military/police along with any prior service guys/gals (no matter what job they held in the past) snatched up by the draft. Everybody is tired, hungry, and scared. My character might even be able to give a few little "classes" the military is so big on.
3. As far as weapons go security forces have their own little standard equipment list. I'll have that up later. However I won't begrudge anyone for adding a personal weapon in. As long as you don't go over board or go high lander. Just to say right off the bat I've got no problem with knives, clubs, hatchets/hawks, black jacks, knuckle dusters, and all those neat little implements of pain/death that turned up in trenches of the first world war back in the day. After all those are turning up in today's war since they can very easily be smuggled into packs and footlockers.
4. There are four main groups in the story. I'll have those up as soon as I'm done with a short description of each. First RP is going to focus on one. All I can give is a name since I'm not even done with it's description. STARS Meteor Detachment.
5. If you're not able to stick around for the long haul (multiple RPs) just pull your character out or kill them off. A little information on draft and security forces. You only have to serve two years. Either in an active component (STARS/UBCS) or reserve (RPD/MCP). If for some reason you need to drop off during an RP always possible your character disappears, ends up being shanghaied or held prisoner by a certain group to be introduced, or is pulled from the field during injury. As for that second option. That group is made up of some real sick twisted brutal mofos.
6. Other than this stuff basic RP rules.
Over all I'd like to get enough people to fill a gun truck (at least five). So go ahead and drop a post if you're interested or have questions.
